Phoenix College Celebrates Successful Sophomore Night and Basketball Season Conclusion

On our Sophomore Night, we honored Marlene Moreno, Duane Rogers III (who received second-team all-conference and second-team all-region honors), Andres Arellano (third-team all-conference), Nainoa Peters, and Xavier Santacasa. Additionally, we paid tribute to our dedicated table crew members Salvatore Navarro (10 years of service), Thomas Blachowski (20 years), and Michael Armbruster (30 years), recognizing their longstanding commitment to our program. Lastly, we celebrated Dr. Noshin Rafieei, the recipient of the PRIDE Scholar Award, Nainoa Peters.

 

In women's basketball, our team secured a 60-51 victory over South Mountain on this special night, with two players achieving double-doubles: Nivea Campbell and Breanna Romero. The women's basketball season concluded with a record of 7-22 overall.

Unfortunately, the men's basketball team experienced a loss in their final game of the season against South Mountain, with a score of 82-77. Despite the defeat, three players reached double figures, with Andres Arellano leading the Bears with a game-high of 23 points. The men's basketball season concluded with a record of 4-26 overall.
