Alumni Spotlight: Jacob Stobart '18

Featured Alumni: Jacob Stobart '18, former Phoenix College baseball player (2017-18) and current professional baseball player (left handed pitcher) with the, Yolo High Wheelers.

2024: Signed with the Yolo High Wheelers.

2023: In August, he signed with the Billings Mustangs & pitched magnificently out of their bullpen with 2.38 ERA over 11.1 innings in 6 appearances. 

2023:  Jacob made his professional baseball debut in 2023 with the Trois Rivieres Aigles in the Frontier League & pitched in 22 games out of the bullpen. He K'd 135 batters in 167 IP during his 55 appearances. 

2019-21: Played for Stephen F. Austin State University (Division 1)

2019 (Junior) Stobart appeared in 19 games with Stephen F. Austin State University and led the team in pitching starts with 13... Notably against Portland (2/28) he posted 8 strike-outs while only allowing one hit... Versus Houston Baptist (3/17), in six innings he was able to post 5 strike-outs and two hits... Looks to build on his efficiency in the following season as he finished the season allowing a .304 batting average...

2018 (Sophomore) | Finished out his career at Phoenix College by helping the squad post a 31-25 record...Took part in 29 games and batted .229/.329/.286...Drove on four runs on 16 hits, 10 walks and a hit-by-pitch...Scored seven runs and amassed five stolen bases...Socked a home run for his lone extra base hit of the season as part of a 2-for-4 day at the dish in a win over Western Nebraska (3/16)...Turned in three multi-hit games...Posted a season-high three hits in a one-run victory over Eastern Arizona (3/24). 

2017 (Freshman) | Started his collegiate career by playing at Phoenix College.

High School | Turned in a stellar four-year prep career at Red Mountain High School for head coach Ross Pagel...Named Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-City as a junior...Increased his productivity as a junior and earned Second Team All-State, First Team All-Region and First Team All-City laurels a result of it...Repeated as a First Team All-Region and First Team All-City honoree as a senior but also latched on to First Team All-State and Region Player of the Year honors during his two-way season...At the dish, batted .382 with 40 RBI and on the hill tossed 54 frames while racking up 65 strikeouts and posting an ERA of 1.20...Also named to the Arizona Summer League All-Star Team as both a first baseman and a pitcher. 

Personal | Born Jacob Stobart on April 16, 1998...Son of Ben and Mindy Stobart...Has two sisters...Majored in nursing at SFA.
