Ethan Dougherty
Title: Assistant Coach

Ethan Dougherty is entering his first year as the assistant coach of Phoenix College men's soccer team for the 2022/23 season, after starting to work with the team in June of 2022. 

Previously Ethan spent two years with the Grand Canyon University men’s soccer program from 2019 to 2021, one year as an intern and one year as a volunteer. In the 2020 season (played during the spring of 2021), GCU won the WAC conference going undefeated during the regular season play and made their second NCAA tournament appearance. In that season, Ethan worked with the WAC Coaching Staff of the year, where he gained vital knowledge and experience. The team had five players in all WAC selection and 4 honorable mentions, Defensive Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year, and one All-American selection. Two players that Ethan worked with were drafted 1st round into the MLS.

During his time at GCU, he aided the assistant coach, Vlastimir Davidovic’s efforts in video analysis of GCU’s team, scouting presentations on opponents, practice implementation, and player recruitment, while also assisting in operating the program’s camps.

Dougherty’s coaching background began at TFA Barca in 2017 which later merged into East Valley NSFC. In 2019, Ethan helped his 2003 NSFC boys team win Presidents cup. And in 2022, he assisted the 2003 EV NSFC boys team to win State cup. He began coaching high school soccer at Higley in 2019 and currently coaches at Mountain View High School. He has a national “D” license and is working towards a National “C” license certificate for coaching and will be continuing his licensing when available. 

Ethan graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Community Sports Management from Arizona State University.
