The Phoenix Bears picked up their 41st win of the season en route to winning the Region I title on Saturday afternoon, beating South Mountain 3-2 in the Region I championship game hosted by Phoenix. 

Asia Jones and Kaitie Hofmann each homered for the Bears who scored all three of their runs in the first inning and held on as the Cougars scored a run in the third and sixth innings.

Sydney Haake allowed two runs in six innings while striking out three while Alexis Ayersman slammed the door with a scoreless seventh inning in the circle. 

Pitcher, Sydney Haake earned MVP of the tournament.

The Bears will represent Region I in the NJCAA DII Softball Championship in Spartanburg, S.C.
