No. 6 Phoenix College Softball Splits with Scottsdale, Improves to 39-4

The Phoenix College Bears Softball team continues to impress, improving to 39-4 overall and 25-3 in ACCAC play after splitting a doubleheader with Scottsdale. The Bears are now ranked No. 6 in the latest NJCAA Division II poll and remain one of the top offensive teams in the country.

Through 45 games, the Bears have scored a staggering 457 runs while hitting .427 as a team with a .493 on-base percentage and a .680 slugging percentage. They've launched 76 home runs and driven in 408 runs.

Top Performers:

  • J'kaia' Graves (Fr.) leads the team with a .541 batting average, racking up 79 hits, 61 runs, and 58 stolen bases.

  • Katie Hofmann (So.) has been a powerhouse at the plate, hitting .488 with 17 home runs, 75 RBIs, and an incredible .604 OBP.

  • Harli Noriega (Fr.) is batting .478 with 17 homers and 56 RBIs.

  • Hannah Hill (So.) adds veteran consistency, hitting .403 with 8 home runs and 46 RBIs.

  • Mackenzie Phillips (So.) brings the power as well, slugging .860 with 12 home runs and 38 RBIs.

Pitching Staff Highlights:

  • Yasmine Bernal (So.) continues to lead the circle, boasting a 20-3 record with a 2.44 ERA and 130 strikeouts over 120.2 innings.

  • Maddison Peter (Fr.) is a perfect 17-0 with a 3.10 ERA and 91 Ks across 104 innings.

  • The staff combines for a 2.82 team ERA and 268 strikeouts.

Fielding Excellence:

Phoenix College has maintained a solid .954 fielding percentage as a team, with standout defenders like Katie Hofmann (.993) and Kassidy Juarez (.992) anchoring the defense. Outfielders Sofia Herrera and Tavi Polk have perfect 1.000 fielding percentages.
