Phoenix, AZ – After a stellar regular season that saw Phoenix College Softball consistently ranked in the NJCAA Division II Top 10, the Bears' postseason run took a hit with back-to-back losses in the Region I, Division II Tournament. The Bears fell 5-3 to Scottsdale Community College before dropping a 5-3 decision to South Mountain Community College in the double-elimination format.
Despite the setbacks, the Bears remain hopeful for an at-large bid to the NJCAA Division II Softball World Series, held May 19–24 at Choccolocco Park in Oxford, Alabama. The national tournament selection show is scheduled for Tuesday, May 13 at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. Arizona time.
The Bears finished the season with an impressive 53-4 overall record, a testament to their dominance throughout the year. Under the leadership of long-time head coach Heinz Müller, recently named ACCAC Coach of the Year, the program has remained a perennial contender on the national stage.
