Bears Women’s Basketball Begins Season 3-0, Led by Sophomores Nivea Campbell and Jayla Cal

The Phoenix College Women's Basketball team has started their season on a high note, winning their first three games against Park-Gilbert JV, GCU JV, and ACU JV, showcasing strong performances on both ends of the court. Averaging an impressive 79 points, 46 rebounds, and 16 assists per game, the Bears' success is largely thanks to the dynamic duo of sophomores Nivea Campbell, who leads in scoring with 19.3 points per game, and Jayla Cal, contributing 17.3 points per game and adding defensive intensity.

Sabrina Anderson and Nashelle "Nelly" Ponds have dominated the boards, while Majaya "Jaya" Broadnax's defensive skills have been essential in sparking the team's momentum. The Bears now prepare for a five-game road stretch, beginning with Yavapai College on November 7 at 5 p.m. Eager to turn the tide against Yavapai, Phoenix College is ready to make their mark in the Roughriders' home opener.
