Women's Soccer Secures Third Consecutive Region I, Division II Title with 2-1 Overtime Win Over Pima

In an intense showdown, the Phoenix College Bears clinched their third straight Region I, Division II Championship, overcoming Pima Community College in a 2-1 overtime victory. Down 1-0 after Jessica Alvarez's goal in the 59th minute for Pima, the Bears fought back with a crucial equalizer by Ariany Mapula in the 72nd minute, assisted by Chloe Corral and Renata Manriquez.

As the game stretched into overtime, Yadira Escobedo delivered the game-winning goal, once again set up by Corral, securing the Bears' championship title and an automatic bid to the NJCAA National Tournament. Goalkeeper Irma Palominos played a pivotal role with two crucial saves, supporting Phoenix College's resilient defense and securing the win.

Chloe Corral won MVP of the tournament. 

With this victory, the Bears advance to Nationals, set to take place from November 17-23 in Huntsville, Alabama. The team aims to continue their impressive season on the national stage, fueled by a relentless offense that registered 10 shots in this title game.
