Phoenix College Women’s Soccer Battles to 3-3 Draw with Mt. San Antonio College

Phoenix, AZ – The Phoenix College Women's Soccer team opened their 2025 season with an exciting 3-3 draw against Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, August 22, at Hoy Stadium. Both sides showcased strong offensive play, with late-game drama keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

The Mounties struck first in the 18th minute, but the Bears answered back just five minutes later when Carmen Coronado, assisted by Kiara Sanchez, found the back of the net to even the score at 1-1. After Mt. SAC regained the lead in the 41st minute, Phoenix responded quickly before halftime when Selena Flores Craig, set up by Katarina Flores, leveled the match 2-2.

Phoenix took their first lead of the match in the 59th minute when Giselle German, assisted by Camille Harris, netted a goal to put the Bears ahead 3-2. The momentum carried until the 84th minute, when Mt. SAC converted a penalty kick to bring the score even at 3-3, which would hold until the final whistle.

The Bears tallied 15 total shots with 11 on target, led by Selena Flores Craig (5 shots, 1 goal) and Carmen Coronado (3 shots, 1 goal). Goalkeeper Bijou Holm recorded 3 saves in the contest.

Phoenix College (0-0-1) will continue their home stand next week as they prepare for Excel Academy on Aug. 30th in a scrimmage.
