Phoenix College Track and Field Performance at the Glendale Community College Outdoor Invitational

Phoenix College's track and field team had several strong performances at the recent Glendale Community College Outdoor Invitational, showcasing the talents of both their men's and women's athletes. Here's a breakdown of how the team fared across different events:

Women's 400m Hurdles:

  • Milan Kaur had a standout performance, clocking in at 1:18.01, placing 13th overall. This time marks a personal best for Kaur and earns her a spot as #42 in the NJCAA Division I rankings for 2025.

Men's 800m:

  • Damian Tavena, a sophomore, placed 18th with a time of 2:06.18.

  • Averie Molina, a freshman, came in 21st with a time of 2:12.30.

  • Xavier Cano, another freshman, finished 23rd in 2:13.01.

Women's 800m:

  • Evelyn Osorina, a freshman, finished 18th with a time of 2:42.13.

Women's 5000m:

  • Star Espinoza, a freshman, made a strong showing with a time of 24:32.40, placing 8th overall. This performance ranked her #101 in the NJCAA Division I rankings for 2025.

Men's Long Jump:

  • Damian Tavena finished 24th in the men's long jump, posting a mark of 5.34m (17-06.25), with no wind assistance.

Women's Long Jump:

  • Milan Kaur also had a great performance in the long jump, finishing 11th with a leap of 4.80m (15-09.00), despite facing a slight headwind of -1.6m/s.
