Phoenix College Track and Field Shines at Guachos Indoor Meet

Phoenix College's men's and women's track and field teams showcased outstanding performances at the Guachos Indoor Meet. Syncere Washington demonstrated remarkable speed, securing 11th place in the 60m with a time of 7.30 and 4th place in the 200m with a time of 22.57. Damian Tavena impressed with an 11th place finish in the 300m, clocking in at 38.12, while Ian Fairley claimed 15th place in the 400m with a time of 55.75.

In the women's 1000m event, Fernanda Hernandez and Nadia Alvarez displayed their endurance, finishing 4th and 5th respectively with times of 3:21.65 and 3:29.71. Alfonso Hernandez represented well in the 1 mile, securing 10th place with a time of 4:52.04. The meet highlighted the exceptional talent of several other Bears across various events.

The Indoor season will culminate with the Bears competing at Northern Arizona University on Friday, February 16, 2024, inside the Walkup Skydome. Following this, the team will prepare for the NJCAA Div.1 Indoor National Championship in Gainesville, Florida, scheduled for March 1st and 2nd.
