In their season opener, under the leadership of new head coach Dawn Barnes, Phoenix College volleyball unfortunately suffered a loss to Yavapai College, with the first two sets proving to be tightly contested. Despite this setback, the team remains optimistic about the season ahead, recognizing the potential for improvement and growth. 

In another match against Eastern Arizona College, they showed promise securing their first set win of the season against a strong opponent. Coach Barnes, with her background as a former Division 1 coach, instills positivity within the team as they acknowledge areas that require refinement. 

Buoyed by their considereable potential, the team remains brimming with enthusiasm for the upcoming season.

Looking forward, the team's next challenge is set against Glendale Community College on August 30th.
