Alex Ramirez named Phoenix College's Women's Volleyball Head Coach

Phoenix, AZ - The Phoenix College Athletics Department is excited to announce the hiring of Alex Ramirez to be the next head coach of the women's volleyball program.

"Sports have played a major role in my life ever since I was first introduced to soccer in elementary school. From a young age, I learned that hard work, dedication, and patience are keys to success both in sports and in life. These principles have guided me in every sport I've played and every coaching role I've undertaken.

Since 2004, I have been dedicated to the field of education, guiding student athletes not only in their academic pursuits but also in their daily lives. Being a former PC Bear Alum and Graduating from Grand Canyon University will allow me to relate to local talent. My passion for coaching stems from a desire to help students understand the importance of being well-rounded individuals.

I have been coaching since 2005, starting with middle school basketball while I was in college. This led to opportunities to coach football and volleyball at the high school level, both at the private and public sectors. I served as the co-head volleyball coach at Central High School and later as the head volleyball coach at Washington High School. During these years, I also started a club volleyball team for inner city girls, Beauty to Beast. Currently, I embark on this new journey as the head volleyball coach at Phoenix College.

I am excited to collaborate with the other talented coaches on staff to help our Phoenix College volleyball players thrive both as students and athletes".
