Phoenix College's cross country athletes demonstrated remarkable achievements at the 2023 NJCAA Cross Country Nationals in Huntsville, Alabama. Coached by Head Coach Jeffrey Goldstein, Sofia Miranda and Pedro Gomez delivered lifetime best performances, with Miranda securing the 213th spot and Gomez finishing 150th. Despite the challenging competition involving over five hundred athletes, the team showcased resilience and determination. Coach Goldstein expressed enthusiasm, emphasizing the valuable experience gained at the national championships and the program's readiness for the journey ahead.

 

"The past weekend at NJCAA Cross Country National Championships was a great experience for our program and gave us a little taste of the next level.  The road to greatness will be long and hard and thankfully we have the pieces in place to shorten the path.  We are excited to get started." - Goldstein

 

The athletes—Sofia Miranda, Maria Fernanda Hernandez, Alfonso Hernandez, and Pedro Gomez—have set a strong foundation for Phoenix College's cross country program as they look forward to future successes.
